I forgot about the time I found a Delta Integrale HF parked halfway onto the sidewalk on a Berlin street a growing number of summers ago, not oh-so-far from the Technical University there.
I saw this very car a few more times in the year I lived in Berlin, and it was always, always mind-blowing.
It's almost impossible to imagine this car getting this treatment in America.
Bt it was being used and, presumably, loved. That's what's important.

somebody might have loved the car, but not Windex

It's almost impossible to imagine this car getting this treatment
anywhere
. Even front-wheel-drive HF Turbos are increasingly prized.
Then again, non-Evo Integrales have only recently started to appreciate.

If the pollen season there is anything like it was when I lived in Florida, that could have been cleaned that morning...

I saw a mint AE86 a few months ago.
Stanced.
I have since lost all faith in what people will and won't do with a treasured car.

That's quite the parking job there...

I saw one in concours condition on the street in Tokyo. Granted the owner was inside the car and he looked like he was waiting for someone. That was the first and only Delta Integrale I've seen in my life.

welcome to European parking, where the rules are made up and they also don't matter

I feel like mint, stanced AE86 is an oxymoron.

I live in Tokyo, and I've seen more than a few, I've actually worked valet for a high end supermarket (ridiculous right?) during college, and actually got to drive'em, if only for a little bit. Good Times!

you can buy them here in Japan, we're lucky I guess.
US$22,700 for a 1 owner car 43,500 miles being Japan, in decent condition.

I saw a red mint Delta Integrale about two and a half years ago parked right outside the American Apparel shop in Berlin. It was right up on the pavement outside the shop in a very busy commercial area. Owner must be bold as brass! Everytime I meet someone who works there I ask if one of the staff owns the car. Maybe it was this one in shinier times?

This is how we park, Euro style:

CCC had a Delta Integrale for about 2 months right when I started as an intern there. Was lucky enough to drive it very briefly. Best VW GTI ever!!

This pristine Integrale Evo was parked in front of a Starbucks in Evanston, IL in October of 2010. It had IL plates, and I asked everyone in Starbucks if it was theirs to no avail. I couldn't wait around for the owner and I've never seen it again.

...or that's what you're supposed to do here - note the car behind it is similarly parked.

I wrote up a post, but I'm not sure I have rights to post to Oppo. It only allows me to post to my personal blog.

Down on the street in Yokohama, Japan
The safety barriers and the cones in the background don't mean a thing, no special event going on, it was just parked there.

Please share your post to Oppo... The Lancia Delta Integrale is among my top 10 cars .
And because this one is yellow, it gives me pants tightening syndrome

I'm with you. I'm waiting until the Integrale Evo 2's hit the 25 year mark .... and I have a lot more money. The post is up. It's already half way down the page.

it is quite common in Germany, on most streets you are supposed to park like this to leave enough space on the street for through traffic

How do you know it was mint when he got it. Maybe he worked hard to get it to that point, and stanced it. What's so wrong with it being stanced?
It's because you paid for his car, isn't it?
![]() 02/25/2014 at 16:54 |

Oh, he might have done all that. And it's not my money. There are just certain cars that are more stupid than others to stance. Cars that handle well, and cars that are more rare than others. This falls into both categories. What's next, a stanced LFA? A stanced GT3?? Where does it end?!?!
![]() 02/25/2014 at 16:56 |

Oh it's not your money?
Huh, interesting.
I'll be over here worrying about the cars I pay the bills for.

People who stance are evil. Most here will back me up on that, you just watch.
My wife pays for the cars so I only really worry about the maintenance and minor upgrades. I think we have one of the only Fit's I've seen with an exhaust system... I would pay, but I refuse to buy new cars and she refuses not to, so I just take her hand me downs.

Ah, I'm evil, I see.
If only I could buy econoboxes and judge people who drive interesting cars I may redeem myself.

Oh I've had my fill, the truth is I went back to school and couldn't afford to continue playing the car game so I sold all the toys, cried, bought a bunch of textbooks, cried, cried, and started driving her car when she got a new Outback. Had an AE86, GTi, etc... Just don't have the time to tinker anymore.
And seriously, cutting springs and ripping apart the wheel well to allow for your tires to be worn in half isn't really 'interesting'. Now...lowering a car to where the wheels fit flush to the wheel well with proper camber, no rub, and good suspension, that IS interesting and can be quite attractive, if not just as impractical.
Like so...

You didn't say the coils were cut. You didn't differentiate at all.
